... i have but one voice, one heart, and one sacrifice, so would you take this life laid down and be glorified...

its official, i have completely killed my sleep schedule... dont believe me? well here is what happened...

yesterday, i shot a wedding right outside of Dubuque, Iowa, it was beautiful, on a vinyard, this is fairytale, serious! anyways, i didn't really want to stay in a hotel, because i already did that last weekend and because i like my own bed, so instead i decided to drive the six hours there and back and shoot for ten hours in between... a long day wouldn't even begin to describe it! so, I woke up at four- fifteen saturday morning and got home at three-thirty sunday, whew! sleep schedule effectivly ruined! it was well worth it though! the pics are beautiful, and the couple is just so wonderful!

the countdown to alaska continues at fifty seven days... i get more excited every day! the only downfall to this move is having to buy new things... i know that those of you that know me well are laughing, because we all know i love anything new! but this involves buying seconds of things i already own and like, also it means spending money, and i am currently dirt poor... so if anyone wants to contribute to my bank account, go right ahead! better yet, hire me to take pictures! i love that!

sometimes i start to freak out about money and having a career and getting married and having kids and all of the things that all of my friends are doing, mostly because i don't have any control over these things, and then i have to remind myself that Gods plan is perfect, and the only way. he is the one who threw a career in my lap that i never saw coming, but has been so much to me, and helped me to grow in so many ways ... and he continues to reveal to me the desires of my heart that i didn't even know were there! yesterday at the wedding i had a few minutes of downtime to talk to my friend s. s is an awesome girl, who was so encouraging to talk to, and she just reminded me again, that i need to trust that God sees the whole picture, and it is perfect, fine art and beautiful, where as i only see the brush strokes as they are happening...

this analogy is so awesome, i think about it in the context if my medium of photography, and there is so much that happens to make a picture a photograph, there is editing and color correcting and cropping, and God does all of that to make our lives perfect, i think of how perfect i want my pictures to be and how i can see the final product while i am setting the picture up, and God does the same for us... and that is incredible!

therefore i need to stop playing God in my own life, and just let him lead me... which can be scary, but... as soon as i let go and trust he provides, every time, he has never failed me in that. so now i am just praying hard, that he finds me furniture and a job, and that our roomate situation goes well, and i know it will, because God doesn't fail, it might not be exactly the way i pictured, but thats okay, it will still be great!

i should probably try to sleep, so... the list of the day is ten things you didn't know about me...
1: i am intolerant of everything, literally the only stuff my body digest well is veggies, rice and chicken... how exciting!
2: i am horrible at shaving my legs, i literally never do it! good thing i am a natural blonde!
3: out of the twenty-two people i have shared a room with over the past six years all but nine are married and four have children. out of the nine remaining only two aren't in a serious relationship... lesson: live with me, you get married! get ready j! 4: i have a turtle tattoo on the inside of my wrist, all of the girls in my family actually have turtle tattoos in remembrance of my dad.
5: my favorite part of a wedding is right after the bride and groom walk back down the isle, its the best time to shoot them as well, they are relaxed and happy and in love, it makes the hours of formal portraits worth it!
6: one of my dreams is to spend a significant amount of time living on a sailboat...
7: writing lists is one of my favorite things to do... i also love planning just about anything!
8: my favorite colors are green, purple, cobalt and black... i also like pink, but only very specific shades!
9: in fifth grade i got in trouble for calling a kid a jerk, when the teacher took me out in the hall and asked me to apologize to the boy, i said, "what, it's not like i called him the 'a' word..." yeah, I was sassy even at eleven.
10: i am a sucker for triceps, they are one of my favorie muscles on anyone... yeah, it's wierd!

goodnight finally!
a.
